Clark2 and Mary

It’s been a fabulous weekend celebrating with Clark and Mary as their wedding is coming up fast! First up was Clark’s bachelor party on Saturday evening that was a laid-back time with dinner, the driving range, then pool and darts. Sunday, we celebrated with Clark and Mary at their shower.

Rock Bottom BreweryThe bachelor party consisted of Clark’s Dad, “Tucker” Wachsmuth, Clark’s older brother, Charlie, Groomsmen Bobby Lee and Jason Johnson, and myself.

The food at Rock Bottom Brewery was great as always. Everytime I order the Chicken Fried Chicken, it just gets better and better. It was served on a large platter and the portion covers all of it. Topped with some gravy with corn, it’s a monster of a meal.

We headed over to the East Moreland golf driving range, where the guys showed off their driving skills with a bucket of balls each. When the ball collector came out, they directed their aim to hit the cart. There were a few close shots, but it got away clean. Another funny incident was a black cat that parked itself out on the green. Clark and Charlie both got pretty close to hitting it with a golf ball a few times, enough to startle the cat.

We finished the evening at 25-hour pool, playing some games there.

On Sunday, we went to Jolene’s house for Mary and Clark’s shower, which Jenni had organized. Most of the party consisted of dancer friends with a few of Mary’s close friends. The party started with a Mad Lib story about Mary’s dream guy, with some funny combinations of descriptions.

The “Guess the 50’s Song” challenged everyone as they had to guess the title and artist of ten songs Jenni had pre-selected and edited. The title and artist were both one point a piece. Clark won the prize with fourteen points.

Last, but not least, there was a challenge to test how well Clark and Mary knew each other. Mary had to feel the legs of three guys and determine which one was Clark. She dismissed the first candidate, complimented on the muscles on the second candidate, then chose the third. Unforunately, she had picked the wrong leg, but she was happy that she complimented on Clark’s leg as being muscular.

Clark and Mary's Dancer ShowerWhen it was Clark’s turn, he had to smell the scent of four gals’ hair to find Mary. He made one pass and decided to get a second clue by checking their biceps. I think Mary give him a hint because she was laughing quite hard, but silently. But I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

After the games, everyone got to enjoy the delicious cake and watched Clark and Mary open presents. Special thanks to everyone who helped out decorating, Jolene and David for hosting the party at their house, and to Jennilyn for all the planning and coordination. I believe everyone had a great time!
